OK First to make this work you will need WinRAR or a similar program to unzip these files which are in a .RAR format.

Currently the Multiplayer RRJDS and WTS versions will work on almost all platforms to include Win7,

all except Windows Vista...... Freelancer Multiplayer is KNOWN to have issues running with Windows Vista.

WARNING READ ALL OF THESE STEPS BEFORE IMPLIMENTING THEM!!!!!

Be aware this is not the original Freelancer Game. The following are MODS or variants using the original game as a basic template. Do not try to use these as an original copy IT WILL CRASH!

Windows has long since discontinued support of the original game and production of the game CD.

As such, that is why this is here in this format. If you want an Original version of the game best to check online for a possibly working copy.

If you do not have a previous copy of the original game and are seeking to find it here you will not.

Remember that illegal possession of such data and hardware / Firmware is against the law and punishable by fines and jail time.

I will not be held responsible for any person who breaks the law by illegally using any software / firmware contained on this site as a whole or part there-of. You have been warned!

HOW TO GET THESE FREELANCER MOD GAMES TO PLAY

The RRJDS is a Multiplayer only Game.

The WTS is both Multiplayer "IF" you can find a server for it and you can play some of the orignal games solo missions but not all.

This will allow you to get a feel for the game if new to it and also use the built in first missions tutorial.

STEP ONE: Download the following file, unzip it, burn these subfiles  and subfolders onto a CD and install this version onto your computer. This will not run the game but is needed for the modded games to run in the Steps below. If you try to run these files without following the next steps it will either crash to desktop or crash your machine I am not responsible if such happens.

CD BURN FILES "Required to be installed to computer for next steps to work"

STEP TWO: Once the above files and folders have been downloaded / unzipped / burned onto a cd / and then the setup.exe file ran and installed onto your system it would have created a folder named Freelancer. THIS IS NOT a playable game, try to play it as such and you are reposnsible for any damage to your system. Once this install has ran, you will want ot go to step three below. Again it may look like the game, DO NOT be tempted as it will crash your system if you try to run it as such, you have been warned!

STEP THREE: Download one or both of the below listed games

RRJDS Mod "multiplay only"

Download this file unzip it and ten paste these files into the freelancer files you created with the install above. Once these files have been pasted into the proper files and folders into the freelancer file you created with the CD Burn files the full multiplayer RRJDS game can be played.

WTS Mod "Solo and Multiplay possible"

If you do not wish to play the RRJDS game you can after install of the CD Burn files simpl manually erase the created Freelancer folder. DO not use the uninstall options. Then follow the steps below to install the WTS game and folder.

1) Download the WTS Mod Game, this is a complete game in and of its self.

2) Once downloaded use WinRar to unzip it into its own game folder.

TO RUN EITHER THE RRJDS OR WTS GAMES DO THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

A) Locate the EXE file in the subfolder EXE of the game you wish to play and create a desktop icon for it.

B) Use the desktop icon to activate the game, for some, you will get a message saying it does not recognize your video card,

no problem, There is a small check box in the lower left corner if you get this message make sure it is checked, then tell it to continue.

The checked box tells it to make sure it does this check each time you start the game or it may hang up on you.

C) For WTS solo play, Enter the game, select New Game, and watch all the spiffy intro vid sections and once you have taken the first job

and gotten your ship from Juni, hit the F1 key to open your main menu and save the game there.

This will create a secondary folder in your "documents and Settings/Documents/my games/freelancer/Accts/Singleplayer"

This is where all your data will be saved for all your freelancer Solo games a second folder will be creatd here for multiplayer games later on.

D) If you can not find this location simply Click START, select SEARCH and look for a file named "AutoSave.fl", it should be in

a "freelancer/Accts/Singleplayer folder", but may vary depending upon your Operating system.

So be sure you have the correct file before continuing on. Once you locate this file and folder, write it down you WILL need this info for the next steps.

E) The basic Game manual for both mods can be found here: MANUAL

SAVED GAMES OPTIONS

Below is listed a saved game file this goes into your SINGLEPLAYER saved game folder which you located in the steps above.

Download the file "DO NOT Change the name", Unzip and Place into the Single player folder where the Autosave.fl file is located.

Once you restart the game from the main menu select the LOAD GAME Option and you will see your saved games there.

The game you originally saved, the AutoSave game, then the additional one, plus the auto saved game for your fist mission.

DO NOT Change the file names of these files in the folders, to change a name use the save game functzion int he game ot make a new game

or they may not play for you. Autosave is simply a secondary back up of the last game you saved before leaving the game.

You will now have different options to play the solo game.

1) The game you originally created which uses the default starter ship, weapons and available cash.

2) Or the saved game you downloaded form here. If you have never played Freelancer before this is the selection I would suggest. It has a better ship to start with. This is mainly to make it as easy as possible for you to stay alive while learning the game, its controls, and environs.

NOTE: At times in the game you will be advised or suggested to sell your current ship and buy a new one. If using the Option 2 game

I would not do so unless your really sure you have abetter ship to buy. If however, you decide to sell the ship or at any time buy different weapons

and or equipment, I HIGHLY Suggest you save the game first. In this way you have a return point later if things do not go as you wished them too.

EXTRA SAVED GAME

This is a basic systems map showing the original games systems and how they are connected to make it easier for you to get around. There are additional systems and places to find in the WTS Game not shown here to keep it of interest for you.

Freelancer Original Systems Map

LASTLY; READ THE MANUAL!!!!

Once you launch for the first mission, You have several options at this point ,

A) Click the "Space bar" to go into free flight or stay in controlled flight which requires you to hold the mouse key down all the time to control your ship.

I prefer the free flight option myself.

B) You have several "View" options in the game. Be sure to check the F1 menu in controls for these options.

I prefer first person so it is as if I am actually inside the ships cockpit. Some prefer second or third person views, while some prefer the rear or turrent view.

Check these out to see which you prefer. Hot keys for these views can be found in the controls section of the main menu via the F1 key function.

If you have any problems you can usually find me on the Team Speak line.

Good Luck Freelancer, cover your six out there, "No one else will"...

HOW TO USE MULTIPLAYER AND INSTALLING RRJDS FOR MULTIPLAYER

NOTICE: The Dark Uncle Server is password protected so you will need to email me for the current password and to get onto

the email list to recieve the current and any future new passwords as it changes.

The following steps are to play any Freelancer Multiplayer game Mod.

A) At the main menu select multiplayer and follow the directions.

B) At one point the first time you do this, you will be given a code, WRITE THIS DOWN AND SAVE IT or Print screen it and save it to print out later.

If for any reason you must reload FL or it crashes this code is the only way you will be able to locate and play any multiplayer

characters on any server you have previously played on, (ANY SERVER).

Server admins will not even have this code so can not simply reset your characters on a server, IT IS IMPORTANT!!!!!

C) Once at the server window there will be a crap load of servers listed.

In the lower center of the screen is a FILTER button click this and select to only show compatable builds.

NOTE: Different servers have different rules, be sure to visit their websites if listed in the info section of the

server screen at the bottom or you can get banned from the server and not even know why.

Come into the server, create a character, and your off and running. There is no story line in the multiplayer version you are on your own from the git-go.

As such I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you play the WTS solo game and get use the controls and game dynamics first before venturing into the multiplayer realm, there is no learning curve in the MP Game.

Once you are in the Multiplayer game check your missions log and cargo hold you will have cargo and a preset quest to earn your first set of cash in the RRJDS Version.

Good luck Freelancer!

This is a basic systems map of the RRJDS 2.82R2 Universe to help you get around since it is larger and more complex than the original game systems.

ACCESSING EXTRAS Such as Universe and System Maps,

weapons listings, Equipment locations and Reputation dealers.

In your freelancer\accts\single player Folder "Where your saved games are at", create 2 sub folders named

"Datastorm original" and "Datastorm RRJDS".

then download each of the 4 files below into their specific folders.

Datastorm original Folder

File 1

File 2

Datastorm RRJDS Folder

File 1

File 2

The below download is the actual Datstorm program.

Download this, unzip the file and then loacte the executable file in the

unzipped folder and install, to your selected loaction.

DATASTORM Program

DATASTORM USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Once this is done when playing Freelancer Original vanella version,

copy and paste the Datastorm Original folder files into the Single player

saved game folder and activate Datastorm for full map and data informaiton.

When playing Freelancer RRJDS Multiplayer, delete the 2 Datastorm files from the

Single Player folder and replace them with the 2 files from the Freelancer RRJDS folder.

NOTE: ALWAYS be sure to copy and paste these files from their original folders so you

always have a working file for each saved game in place. YOU HAVE to delete any datastorm files

in the single player folder when replacing them with a new set or it can cause the Datastorm program to fail.

So when you want to see info for the Original game, copy and paste the files from the Datastorm "Original Folder" to the Single Player

saved game folder, when for RRJDS, remove the Datastorm files from the single Player folder then copy and replace with the RRJDS files.

This IS the most expediant way to handle this problem of cross data for the 2 games, unless you want to go to using FLMM Mod

manager or some other secondary program.

DO NOT try to run the extraction or scan option in the DataStorm program or you will get a data wipe since it will be

unable to locate the files it is seeking!!!!!!!
