Here-in contains most if not all the needed info for unzipping,
installing and playing each game to include basics for burning
the Data CDs some require. Read this please.
A) OK, so you have first downloaded all your files to a main central folder in zipped format.
For DOSBOX and related Games
SO, unzip and install DOSBOX to its default directory the DosBox program will auto select this, cool easy enough right?
Now READ the basic guide in the folder, especially about how to activate and deactivate cursor controlos, the F Key functions.
What you need to know:
1) First off dosbox is a DOS immulator not a full DOS program so normal DOS commands will not always work.
2) It is best to NOT emulate or "Mount" your C:\ or main hard drive, it can be done but not suggested. SO;
3) If you have a second hard drive on your system this is the place to start.
If not then use the Main or C drive for the following.
For now we will say you do not have a secondary or D drive, so we will do all in C drive.
All you need to do to change this is think D, E; F; what ever your second hard drive is named instead of C.

So first installing the games you want to play which runs off of basic DOS and needs no CD burn.
This does not reflect games which first need to be burned to CD there is a different process for those.
1) Open C Drive using explore
2) Create a folder named : Game
3) In this "Game" Folder create a second folder named : DOS
4) Now Unzip or install each into C:\Game\DOS
ok all done we will get into activation commands below under each games name.
Installing games which do not run on DOS and DO NOT NEED to be CD burned.
1) Simply unzip these games fromthe folder oyu downloaded them into initially into the C:\Game folder you created. Easy enough...

CD BURN REQUIRED GAMES:
These can get a bit tricky, so read carefully.
1) First you need a Program that will burn Data CDs and preferably DVDs as well.
I use Nero for this, there are plenty of other such programs free and paid for out there.
2) If you do not already have one do a google search.
3) Of course you will also need to have a DVD or CD Drive capable of also writing as well as reading to burn the disc.
Most computers come with this as standard equipment these days, some older machines may not have one.
If you do not have one, then you will need to have a friend which does burn these off for you.

GETTING THE JOB DONE!
SO, you have the read / Write cd burn drive and the program to do the same, good,
now we need to create the game disk from the downloaded zipped files.
1) You need to unzip the game into a named folder such as for "Wing Commander Saga" into a folder WCSaga or some such.
This can be in the same folder where the zipped game is located for ease of locating it later.
2) Usually the file will unzip into several subfolders, CD1, CD2, and so forth.
Inside each of these folders is all the files and subfolders needed to burn onto the specific CD.
DO NOT simply burn the CD1 folder onto the CD as it will not work then.
You will need to open the CD1 Folder and burn all the files and subfolders it contains onto the cd instead.
3) Once you have burned all the CDs, now it is time to install them.
Each game may be a bit different, but mainly you want to install all Dosbox required games into the Game\DOS folder
and all non-DosBox required games into the Game folder.
Currently all of the DOSBOX games require no CD burn. Simply load them into the Game\DOS folder into their seperate subfolders.
So all of Zork1 is in the Zork1, Zork2 into the Zork2 Folder, all of Renegade Legion in its folder, usually this is done automatically by simply telling winRAR to to it.
You do not want to simply load all the files of each game directly into the game\dos folder or the files get mixed up over written and will not work.
Each game gets its own folder, ok?

Game Specific Instructions.
RUNNING DOSBOX
To run any of the doss games do as follows.
Replace C with whichever drive you created the folder in if not the C Drive.
1) Start DOSBOX using its desktop icon, this wil open 2 small windows.
One is the data window the other the actual promp or command window.
We are interested in the Command window, it will have in it, Z> command prompt.
it is here we will set up our commands for each game.
To return to the default mounted drive after closing a game simply type cd c:\game\dos then
"Hit the Return / enter key" to play a different DOS game
or cd c:\game to play a nonDOS game, OR cd c:\ to go back to the default mounted drive
Control + F10 automatically closes DOSBOX
If window is too small you can hit the ALT+ENTER Key on keyboard to enlarge or reshrink the screen.
Currently working on an in between window size for now though it is small or large..
I can help you with more advanced commands such as changing the config to autoload the game folder upon opening or resizing the game window.

make sure the game files are in a folder named zork
2) Start DOSBOX
Type each line and hit the enter key as follows.
Mount c: c:\ "hit the Enter / Return key"

This will start the game, it will ask if you want color, Y for Yes

NON-DOS Games
Non-DOS games run a bit different each is covered here.
WING COMMANDER I - II - III "THE KILRATHI SAGA"
A few things to note: this game has to run off the CDs you burned.
When installing initially WC I and II, tell it to use the soundblaster settings.
For WC III you can use the more advanced Sound Blaster Pro settings available, but always allow it to use the default ports and IRQs.
All instillations will come off of Disc 1 but you will need ALL of the cds to play the full range of games.
To play any of them insert CD1 into drive and a selection window will appear, select the game you wish to play and your off.
I am still working on the window size verses graphics issues.

WING COMMANDER IV "THE PRICE OF FREEDOM"
WC4 is a bit tricky to get to work.
1) Download the file
2) Unzip the file
3) Burn cd1 and cd2
4) If you plan to install to the default directory go to number "6" if to a specific directory go to "5".
5) Go to the folder / directory where you will want to install the game and create a folder named WC4,
during instillation manually have it install to this directory.
5) Insert CD1 into cd drive if it does not auto install, then open explore function, select the SETUP exe and double click to start.
6) It will only install CD1, then remove the CD fom the drive after instillation.
7) Download and unzip the WC4FIXES file
8) Open WC4FIXES and double click the WC4DVDfix exe to load the fixes, this should also create a new desktop icon if
so you can remove the first one created during initial instillation of CD1.
9) Open the WC4FIXES Subfolder MCI Patch, copy and past the 2 files into the main WC4 game folder.
10) Open the WC4FIXES subfolder DVD FIXES, install the AC3Filter_o_70B program into the main WC4 Game folder.
Now you should be able to startr game with desktop icon and run it.
It will ask you to load CD2, simply insert CD1 and hit the enter / return keyboard key,
You should have no problems anymore after that, nor need the CDs to play UNLESS, you select to start a new game.
ALSO; NOTE:::DO NOT try to configure your joystick using the in game menu for this,
configure your JS via your Windows Control Panel or the JS can crash becoming nonresponcive in the game.
Grats! YOUR DONE.....

WING COMMANDER V "THE PROPHECY"
Installs and runs off the CDs you create, not much more to say on that.
I am currently working on a manual and window size issues, but, runs well to date.

WING COMMANDER PRIVATEER DELUX SET 1 & 2 "#1 The Privateer and #2 Privateer Righteous Fire"
To run this you need to unzip the file and copy everything onto a CD ROM Disk.
Place disk into the CD Drive and load form there.
NOTICE: This disk also contains Wing Commander 1 with Secret missions 1 and Special Ops 2 games.
Once installled you can simply remove the Wing Commander Game Icon this install creates.
Then play WCI, II, and III, from the CD Kilrathi Collection that game runs better, and is set up for Windows.
Consider this a totally seperate game, simply delete the WC game Icon and leave the Missions and Ops icons on desktop.
You can then using the Desktop Icons created by this install play the Secret missions and Ops games.
YOU WILL STILL NEED to have DOSBOX loaded to play the secret missions and Ops games!
If you loaded DOSBOX to its default Location, then simply double click the Ops or Missions Icon you want to play
and it should find the DOSBOX program and activate it Automatically.
You should not need to open DOSBOX manually at all to play these 2 games.
You will also need the Manuals as the game ask for certain codes and such from them in order to play the game.

PRIVATEER II "THE DARKENING"
Download, Unzip files. CReates 3 folders C!, CD2, and CD3. Copy all files and sub folders in these folder to individual CDs 1, 2, &3.
Place CD1 into drive, select Install game, let it install to defualt location if at all possible or you may have problems later. Usually C:\dark
Once install is done, select to leave instillation window.
You can then either simply play the game by inserting the CD1 to start or create a EXE file desktop icon and start it from there.
In either case you will at times be ask to insert the various CDs you created so keep them handy.
